Description
Chris Parker who sells chairs for a living decided to create on canvas, a chair that depicts her love for a unique style and her fun loving nature. "A La Chair" is an acrylic canvas painting (24" by 48").

Carol Smith and Regina Hukill are math teachers who love to quilt. Here the "Sassy Princess" quilt provides the "ABC's" for this antique child's Sunday School chair.
Carol Smith and Regina Hukill teamed up again with the "Out of this World" quilt.   The quilt is a wonderful embellishment to this antique child's Sunday School chair which also comes with a teddy bear.
Christine McKee has studied art at various colleges and has seriously been pursuing art for over ten years.  At this time she mostly paints abstract acrylics.  This chair "Day at the Beach" is reminiscent of a fun afternoon at the beach.  The stripes represent playful colors of a beach towel.  The flowers were inspired from a textile representing delicate marine plants.
Barbara Reid started painting in 2000 during a family medical crisis.  She loved it instantly and still experiments with various styles and media. "Sun Dance" is a whimsical chair painted in acrylic for a child, doll or stuffed animal, a "weathered" plant stand, or just colorful kindling on a chilly night when wood burning is legal!
Trudy Douglass is a CASA volunteer and sometimes crafter.  This chair "Grow CASA" is her interpretation of the 2005 theme for CASA.  "I tried to give an organic vine look to the copper tubing and a leaf feeling to the embossed hearts I made."
Eileen Rensel has her degree in Art Studio and studied in Lucca, Italy.  She paints murals, faux finishes in homes and businesses across the United States.  Here she has used her faux leather finish in brown, black and bronze on this (29" round and 24" high) side table.
"Coffee Time" by Dacey Vander Wal, art teacher at Ridgeview High School.  "The table spoke for itself; it was meant to be a little coffee table.  I could just picture it sitting by someone with a nice hot cup of Joe or a young child playing tea party on it.  I wanted to keep the theme simple and to the point."  The materials used were acrylic paint and vanish.
Eileen Rensel is inspired by early 20th century artist Gustav Klimt on this faux leather top coffee table (which measures 48" by 27" and is "16 high) with black legs.
"Birds of a Feather" by Phyllis Baldwin was inspired by her Heron who is always stalking her Koi pond.
As a newly retired school teacher, Maggie Palmer couldn't give up painting totally.  So when her daughter Tessa, who is a CASA volunteer, asker her to support CASA, it was an easy step into a more skilled adventure.  This fir wood bench "Too Cute" is painted with latex semi-gloss and finished with an acrylic seal.
As a wife and mother, Robin Harmonson, is a "crafter" who enjoys making decorative items to help celebrate life.  She used a variety of mediums in her chair including canvas and fabric paints.  "Celebrate Me" is a fun way to acknowledge someone's birthday or special accomplishment. Enjoy!
Emily Falke is the curator at the Bakersfield Museum of Art.  She enjoys creating art that is colorful and often funky.  She found this old bench and wooden cow at antique stores in Porterville.  She was inspired to create "Blue Cow" by combining both parts.
Eileen Rensel used her faux leather finish on the top of this "Game Table" and completed it with black legs. This side table is 27" by 23" by 21" high.
Jolene Forzetting, CASA volunteer and staff member, painted her chair "Heavenly" with a cloud/sky/heaven motif.  "I work at CASA and would like to contribute my artistic talents to help kids find safe and permanent homes."
Best friends Danielle McKinney and Cristy Cortez-Sackrider love to create together. This chair is the fruit of their artistic synergy.  A little bit of paint, a little bit of decoupage, some fun fabric and an old stable gun brought this chair to life. The "Queen of Hearts" chair will be a great addition to your home or a wonderful Valentine's Day gift
Julie Fleming used acrylic paint, velvet and beads to give a mid-1900's telephone chair an Art-deco look.  The art depicts six female friends who share a "Party-line."  Julie states "My daughter and her circle of friends were my inspiration for the piece."
Jacqueline Parish expresses her personal interpretation of subjects and emotions, using color and pattern as tools to give her pictures form and define her creative style, usually abstract. "Sunflowers" represents a departure.
Jill Thayer utilizes a rich blend of vibrant hues, expressed through a high energy palette of color on this "Abstract Chair."  She explores impressionistic and abstract themes.  Her work is included in corporate and private collections in the United States and abroad including the Reagan Presidential Library, Disney, United States Congressional offices, Washington D.C. and the New Yorker Magazine.
18th Century French artist Francois Boucher is the inspiration for this side table (29" round by 24" high) by artist Eileen Rensel.
Eileen Rensel has hung the "Gone Fishing" sign on this potting table (60" high by 31 1/2" wide) which includes the pots, tools, gloves and potting soil.
"Peaceful Flowers" was designed by many Ridgeview High School students from beginning to advance.  Students in the Art Club designed the idea for the chair.  Once the idea was worked out then the sanding and painting began.  Students primed and painted designs. Lastly, the seat was completely redone thanks to students who in ROP.
David Gordon is known for his local landscape painting and paints in a representational style with some impressionistic technique.  When it comes to furniture "I like to be a bit more free to mix themes."  "Wild Escape" is the name of his table.
Chris Parker is a creative, fun loving gal who has a passion for "Art" and this great event.  Her "wood" acrylic painted "Sit Awhile" chair has many more years to please the lucky bidder.
This chair “Fishing and Dreaming!” was designed by Dan Marble and painted by Claudia True.  Dan is a lifelong advocate for children and now builds fun furniture. Claudia loves to paint playful and funky art.  This combination of their efforts is a delightful mix of fish and clouds and dreaming and fun.  Enjoy!
This "San Antonio" inspired chair was painted by an anonymous artist who is a dear friend to the CASA Program.
This "17 Sunrise Kids Rocker" by Channel 17 personality Clint Olivier was work inspired and painted live on the air during the Sunrise Show on February 2, 2005.  Clint stated that he has not had any formal art training but those that watched the show saw that the Channel 17 logo was hand painted by Clint.  Thanks Clint!!
Thanks to Steve and Kitty Ratty, and, Anne Kelly for moving and back-droppings these photos - Kitty was getting more chairs.
