Ross Varner, employee of
Bakersfield Museum of Art, states, " the visual arts are a new
found hobby. This chair is inspired by current events in my
life." |

Artists, Tiffany
Farnholtz, Anjanette Simon and Brent Evinrton joined together and
painted these three spectacular chairs "Orange Flower",
"Wild About Pink" and "Red Flowing". |

"Bon Appetit" is decorative
artist, Dar West's, salute to all those under appreciated kitchen
technicians. Dar specialized in faux finishing and hand painted
walls, furniture, cabinetry, murals and canvas. She is currently
focusing on unique wall designs, experimenting with color and texture
using such mediums as plaster and brown paper bags |

Claudia True's art is known
for being bold and colorful. A new venture is a line of chili
pepper paintings on wood and paper - influenced by her South Texas
upbringing and her love for cooking hot and spicy foods. Bold
color combinations are reminiscent of Mexico, one of the artist's
favorite travel destinations. Her piece "Hot Seat"
is a reflection of her current work. |

Painted with an Art Deco style
in mind, "Goddess" is the work of artist,
Christine McKee. Christine has always had an interest in art
and taken many classes. Her usual medium is charcoal but has
diversified into using others, acrylic, watercolor and printmaking.
She derives a joy from using the figure as a subject, imparting a
feeling of energy and movement to her work. |

A CSUB graduate and artist,
Samantha Purdy, inspirations for her acrylic painted table with
pull out draw, "Elements of Africa" came from her own
collection and interest in African art. |

Using a black acrylic background
which beautifully highlights this painted foliage, Artist Phyllis
Baldwin, has used her creative skills to add a touch of uniqueness
and elegance to this piano bench entitled "blossoms". |

Jill Thayer, has a broad
spectrum of mediums she likes to use. Her travels have been the
inspiration of her abstract impressionistic works. Jill's small
decoupage table is entitled "Poetry in Motion." |

Yoga and mediation followers will
enjoy using artist, Beth Ramone's, beautifully decorated "mediation
stool". Her mediums were acrylic and ink, which has been
sealed with a lacquered finish, and to add a touch of elegance,
crystals have been hung around the edge. |

Dacey Dia Vander Wal, artist and
Ridgeview High School Art Teacher, is currently pursuing a
Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies coupled with Art and
Education at CSUB. Her table, 'Tranquility," is
painted using acrylics. |

As a wife, mother, child care
provider, Sunday school teacher, church choir assistant and a
continuous supporter of CASA, artist Robin Harmonson, uses arts
and crafts as a way to celebrate life. Her painting style is
'crafty' and she enjoys using various mediums including canvas and
fabric paints. Her piece "Solitude" is
dedicated to the children of Bakersfield. |

This "Star Spangled"
bench was a combined effort. It was donated by Joey and Linda
Etienne and Rodney and Cheryl Palla and the seating surface was
interpreted by Linda Etienne. The original concept though, was
by George Washington and Francis Hopkinson and the original artist was
Elizabeth "Betsy" Ross. This largely decorative bench
was inspired by a design originally conceived of by insurgents at the
time of the American colonists' revolt from Great Britain. |

Jacqueline Parish, artist,
expresses her personal interpretation of subjects and emotions using
color and pattern as tools to give her pictures from and mood.
Using a variety of mediums to discover unique ways to define her
creative style, it is her passion of music, especially jazz, which
often influences her work. Her chair and placard is entitled "Retro
Retreat." |

A mixed media chair called "Paradise"
was created with great pride using plaster strips, cardboard and paint
by our talented Ridgeview High School Art Club; Brooke Watson,
Destiny Conlon, Inez Moret, Kenny Osborne and Sophia Gutierrez. |

Artist, Shirley Valov, is
inspired by her feelings at that particular moment. Her fun
bench "Cherries & Bee's" reflects her happiness
that spring is on the way... |

This fun, quirky stool entitled "Kids
Having Fun" is the work of artist, Emily Falke B.A.
(UCLA) and presently curator of Bakersfield Museum Of Art. |

A student of Bakersfield College and
artist, Liz Sherwyn, loves experimenting with all mediums.
She tells us she is still developing her own style and technique but
she does have lots of ideas. Her (bed and foot board) is
entitled "The Birds". |

David Gordon is usually known
for painting familiar landscape scenes of Kern County and the
surrounding areas using acrylic or watercolors. His piece "Bamboo
Jungle," reflects his usual flair for focusing on a single
subject matter and for creating a wonderful atmosphere using light. |

"Silla" is a
decorated Monterey style chair in "vintage México".
Jennifer Randall, has veered from her normal style to
create that old adobe feeling. |

Artist, Curtis Maynard, has
used his talents to emphasis the beauty of nature. Curtis's
artwork incorporates various mediums and styles, always looking for a
new way to express himself. "Natural Beauty" is a
dynamical shaped and dedicatedly colored piece. |

This bench, "Cowboy Up"
honors Bakersfield's own fairground, and those brave cowboys who have
delighted their crowds. The Simpson Sisters "Sherry
Simpson and Jan Errea," thought their bench would warm the
hearts of Bakersfield rodeo fans. |

Here is a joint venture by Too
Gals Studio and Floyd's Office Plus. Chris Parker and Val Damron
are two friends who find great joy in turning something simple into
exciting, creative and unique treasures. "Stay and
Play" is a reflection of their fun ideas. "One
man's junk is these gals adventure!" |
